Choosing Fearlessly
Anneliese OlsonJuly 2, 2008
Choosing Fearlessly? Is that something you do in your business every day? I have talked to a lot of customers who take risks in their businesses every day but do not want to touch their technology decisions with a ten-foot pole. When you’re in business, you usually want to be focused on running your business, not worried about the technology that runs it ...

Printing's Impact on Productivity
Anneliese OlsonAugust 27, 2007
Here are a few additional excerpts from the interview I did with Scott Tuthill. I realize people don’t think about printing every day the way we do at HP. However, we want to make sure you understand the impact good printing decisions can have on your day-to-day business, your productivity, and your bottom line. I asked Scott about how a customer could start thinking about these things...

Some of you may have seen the Queensland University of Technology research report regarding printer emissions. HP’s response can be found in the August 3rd entry of Vince Ferraro’s blog. Vince is the Vice President of our Worldwide Marketing group for HP LaserJets. There is also information available on our HP website…

Touring the World Looking for LaserJets
Anneliese Olson
August 8, 2007
Well, I just got back from my worldwide tour looking for HP LaserJet printers…ok, no- that isn’t quite right. I was actually on vacation. Like you, I need a break from my day-to-day business. I traveled from the US to visit Denmark and Ireland. However, I couldn’t truly get away at times. I always ask businesses about their HP printers and I saw many HP LaserJets on my travels...

Just Want My Printer to Work
Anneliese Olson
July 13, 2007
I have a number of friends who own their own businesses…even my husband is a business owner (he is a partner in a commercial real estate company). His company uses tons of paper in all shapes and sizes- lots of legal documents, faxes, presentations, and blueprints. Printing plays a huge role in what he does on a day-to-day basis but, ultimately, he doesn’t spend much time thinking about it. He just wants things to work…

Always on Printing
Anneliese Olson
July 5, 2007
I mentioned that I had done market research at HP. Learning about our customers is critical to many of us inside HP in a number of ways. We need to know if we are making products that will meet your needs. We need to know if you value the features we design. We need to assure ourselves that products will work the way we’ve promised. We need to understand what you would spend for that product or service and how you would like to purchase it, get supported from HP, and what you think about your relationship with us…

What Happened to the Paperless Office?
Anneliese Olson
June 28, 2007
I used to manage the market research group here at HP. We spent a lot of time and money designing research projects and buying 3rd party research to assess and determine market trends. Fifteen years ago, we did not have Microsoft Outlook or other tools to move documents around easily. We’d print out a survey, fax it to our vendor with our edits, and go back and forth like this throughout the edit process.
I’d have to take huge file folders with me around the world to look at documents in hardcopy format so I could do revision control. The process consisted of faxing a document or sending a disc to each other, both of which were very time consuming. I had always hoped that I would be able to carry around less paper…

SMBs Unlocking the Power of Print with HP's Print 2.0
Anneliese Olson
June 19, 2007
Why do you print? In my experience, people ultimately use printers not because of the devices themselves, but because of the pages that come out of the printers. You create content, you print content, you distribute content, and you consume content all as part of your daily business operations…
