Thoughts on Printer Emission Report

SMB Community Blog - Small Business Expression Center

Some of you may have seen the Queensland University of Technology research report regarding printer emissions. HP’s response can be found in the August 3rd entry of Vince Ferraro’s blog. Vince is the Vice President of our Worldwide Marketing group for HP LaserJets. There is also information available on our HP website. As far as our US region team goes, I’ve spent a lot of time this last week making sure we got all the linkages and people in the US LaserJet business plugged into responding to and talking to customers and partners about what HP is doing, what HP knows, etc.

From my view, this is something we are all taking very seriously. I’ve seen people escalate customer concerns quickly, call customers back right away, and talk to them about their questions. I have people on my team that are attending 11pm conference calls with the other regions of the world and our technical teams to discuss the topic. I’ve seen support managers personally take calls from customers to answer their questions.

HP has a great track record on quality- there are a number of awards and accolades we’ve received over the years. I have been around HP for 13 years and appreciate the focus on quality, and more importantly, what that quality means to you, our customers. Not only do we care about customers from a feature and product standpoint, but also how those products fit into your work or home environment. Ultimately, we strive to design products that provide you with the best overall experience. You will be able to hear from HP on this topic from the HP site…but I just wanted to provide my take for now.
