Here are a few additional excerpts from the interview I did with Scott Tuthill. I realize people don’t think about printing every day the way we do at HP. However, we want to make sure you understand the impact good printing decisions can have on your day-to-day business, your productivity, and your bottom line. I asked Scott about how a customer could start thinking about these things.
He framed it this way…”the first thing would be to walk in their office one morning and stop and just look around to see where paper is an important part of their day-to-day operation. My guess is they will find two key areas." Those areas are:
- “A set of documents or printing that is helping them keep their business going on a day-to-day basis” (invoices, shipping, e-mails, budgets, personnel documentation).
- “A set of documents or materials that are important to them in terms of generating their own revenue, serving their customers, or promoting their brand."
We discussed the angles of both productivity and cost savings. Also, many businesses like to be able to “position themselves and act like a company much larger than they are.”
How do you think about paper in the role of your business? What kinds of documents are important to you on a day-to-day basis? Do you have examples you’d like to share of printing decisions you’ve made that impact your productivity or your bottom line?
