Just Want My Printer to Work
Anneliese Olson
July 13, 2007
I have a number of friends who own their own businesses . . . even my husband is a business owner (he is a partner in a commercial real estate company). His company uses tons of paper in all shapes and sizes- lots of legal documents, faxes, presentations, and blueprints. Printing plays a huge role in what he does on a day-to-day basis but, ultimately, he doesn’t spend much time thinking about it. He just wants things to work.
He thinks about printing when something breaks, when a contract is up for renewal, or when he wants to try something new (most recently, they wanted to create their own tradeshow material and print it on a lower cost printer instead of sending a file to a print provider).
Saving money and improving productivity is something I see all business owners striving to do. Themes that have come up whether I take a look at research or I talk to business owners are that people want to:
- Grow their businesses
- Save time
- Save money
- Use products that don’t break.
Are these the things you worry about? How do these concerns factor into your business and decisions you make about printing?
